I have a very strong opinion on things that happen with the Islamic influence on communities and the conditions of Muslims generally. And I am reminded of them after looking at the atrocities which are happening on our brothers and sisters in Palestine, which pains us to an extreme extent. Authorities in general have a very important role in establishing Islam and strengthening the ummah. But that’s not something which everyone can control.
The point is that change begins from ourselves and our homes.
Before we even talk about oppression from others, or from Muslim governments, or from media houses etc, we need to know that, what is going to happen, is going to happen. Jeruselam will be gone in their hands, eventually we know they will rule. The world will witness much fitna of dajjal. Allah will wipe them with the help of Isa and Mahdi a.s. Then there will be fitna from Gogs and Magogs. Then they will be wiped and the entire world will be Muslim. Then there will be further incidences and eventually when all Muslims will be made to die, Day of Judgement will be established. We also know there will be many things in and around India which we are going to witness…
Now leaving all these things aside, We ask ourselves, haven’t we oppressed those whom we shouldn’t have oppressed? Aren’t there weaker people in society about whom we have never thought? How many of us have really stood up against casteism, misogyny, oppression of the underprivileged? We can’t even leave the newlywed lone soul who has come to a full house of strangers without judging/demeaning or bullying her in the name of so-called culture. We don’t even follow Islam the way it’s supposed to be followed in terms of hijab, financial rulings, marriage and divorce rulings etc.
Let’s think back to what we teach our children, do we teach them the passion to live by Islam and die for Islam, that the best thing that can happen to a person is guidance? Have we even tried to judge based on what Allah commands or do we still judge people based on their beauty, wealth and standing in society? Do we ever speak for the oppressed person in a society that would frown upon us if we do so as we have to deal with powerful people daily? Have we thought about spreading the message of Islam and its teachings to any non-Muslims we know?
The change begins from us, if we are doing things as Allah commands, these trials and tribulations won’t harm us. It’s a big thing I am saying, as I myself am in need of such reminders.
When we leave our biases, our wrong assumptions about Islamic teachings to suit our needs, when we truly live by that we obey when we hear correct Islamic teaching, that’s where we remove problems of torture of ourselves when we die, that’s something which is definitely going to happen.
Whether these kuffaar will desist or not, and whether Muslims will have lesser troubles in this world, is the plan of Allah. Whether we desist or not is the choice Allah has given us. And that’s the ONLY way forward for us and our future generations.
